EABL Launches Casamigos Tequila in Kenya, Expanding Luxury Spirits Portfolio

East African Breweries Plc (EABL) has announced the introduction of Casamigos Tequila into the Kenyan market, marking a significant addition to its growing portfolio of premium spirits. Founded by Hollywood actor George Clooney, entrepreneur Rande Gerber, and real estate mogul Mike Meldman, Casamigos is globally renowned for its smooth taste and exceptional quality.

“We are thrilled to introduce Casamigos to the Kenyan market. The name means ‘House of Friends,’ which embodies the essence of Casamigos tequila. Made in Santiago Matatlán in Oaxaca, Mexico, Casamigos boasts harmonious hints of tamarind, pomegranate, banana, and mango, complemented by delicate notes of smoke, licorice, and mineral nuances. We are confident that Kenyan consumers will appreciate the unique flavor profile of this tequila and that it will resonate with the growing demand for luxury spirits in the market,” said Victoria Mbugua, Casamigos Brand Manager.

As part of its launch, EABL hosted a tasting event at the final Blankets & Wine Concert of 2024, offering attendees the opportunity to sample the product, engage with the brand, and learn more about its craftsmanship and ways to enjoy it.

Casamigos Tequila comes in three distinct varieties, each defined by its aging process:

• Casamigos Blanco: The youngest variety, rested for two months, offers a crisp and clean flavor with notes of citrus, vanilla, and sweet agave. It finishes with a long and smooth aftertaste.
• Casamigos Reposado: Aged for seven months in American white oak barrels, this variety features a soft and smooth flavor profile with hints of oak, caramel, and cocoa. It has a silky, medium-to-long finish.
• Casamigos Añejo: Aged for fourteen months in American white oak barrels, this tequila delivers flavors of caramel and vanilla, balancing sweetness with a hint of spice. Its finish is lingering and smooth.
