Kenya’s Chinese Residents Celebrate Six Decades of Diplomatic Relations with China

The Chinese community in Kenya on Thursday gathered in celebration on a momentous occasion as they marked the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Kenya and China.

The commemorative event at the prestigious Erdemann Chinese School in Nairobi showcased the deep-rooted friendship and growing cooperation between the two nations.

Speaking, Lamber Guo, the Director of China Telecom Kenya Limited hailed the existing strong relationship between Kenya and China and echoed the values of independence, empowerment, and unity, aligning with the essence of Madaraka Day

He praised the progress achieved over the past six decades and emphasized the importance of cultural exchange and collaboration in promoting understanding and mutual prosperity.

He noted that the commemoration of 60 years of diplomatic relations between Kenya and China at Erdemann Chinese School served as a testament to the positive and fruitful partnership between the two nations.

“As Kenya and China continue to nurture their diplomatic relations, events like these serve as a testament to the enduring bond between the two countries and their shared commitment to mutual prosperity and understanding. The celebration highlighted the strides made in bilateral relations and set the stage for continued cooperation and friendship between Kenya and China in the years to come,” he said.

Mr. Charlie Yang, the Principal of Erdemann Chinese School underscored the significance of International Children’s Day and extended warm wishes to all Kenyans on Madaraka Day.

He emphasized Erdemann Chinese School’s role as a gateway for children to comprehend the world, fostering friendship and cooperation between China and Kenya.
