The 2nd Annual Africa Digital Finance Summit To Kick Off In Kenya

The Africa Digital Finance Summit (ADFS) will have an opening ceremony on 22nd February, 2022 at Villa Rosa Kempinski. The ceremony will usher in the 3-day ADFS summit which will be taking place from the 22nd -24th February at the same venue.

The ceremony will be headlined by Hon. Maureen Mbaka, the Chief Administration Officer in the Ministry of ICT, Innovation and Youth Affairs, Republic of Kenya, Hon. Mazamesso Assih, the minister for Financial Inclusion from the Republic of Togo and Hon. Peya Mushelenga, the Minister for Information, Communication and Technology from the Republic of Namibia among other government officials.

The hybrid summit which is themed; “The Future of Finance in Africa; our

pathway to financial freedom” will incorporate a thought-leadership conference featuring governments, central banks across Africa, prominent executives representing global Fintech operators, start-ups, professionals and decision makers across the world in the financial, economic, technology,

fintech and block chain industry to deliberate and forge a pathway towards the future of finance in Africa.

It also seeks spearhead the conversation of re-defining value exchange for Africans and to have conversation on disruptive finance, encouraging Africans to leverage on Digital and Decentralized Finance in their businesses and everyday transactions.Loading…

With over 60 speakers from all over the world, the summit will take a microscopic look at some of the key topics impacting African finance today for example, government and digital financial technology as a driver of economic growth, Africa’s readiness for Decentralized Finance (DeFi), regulation of digital financial systems, revolution of value exchange in Africa, digital infrastructure for innovation, among others.

“This is a Summit for bold, visionary leaders who are willing to disrupt as much as they are willing to create, who know what to give up as much as what they expect to gain.” Says Mary Njoki, CEO and Founder of Glass House PR, the organizer of the summit.

This summit will follow in the footsteps of its predecessor which took place last year and which brought in over 50 keynote speakers and a pool of over 1000 participants. The inaugural summit which was themed “Decentralised Finance” set the pace for finance conversations in Africa especially now when the continent is facing economic and technological advances at an incremental pace.

Additionally, this summit will foreshadow an award ceremony which will recognize organizations that stand out in performances, growth and innovations with an aim of championing for and encouraging new innovations. The award ceremony will take place later in the year.
