Wilfred Musau becomes first casualty as KCB names Paul Russo designate Managing Director for National Bank

KCB has dropped current National Bank CEO Mr. Wilfred Musau, a day after getting approval to buy NBK and inturn appointing Paul Russo as designate Managing Director of National Bank of Kenya.

Russo who is currently KCB Group Director of Regional Business will lead the transition team during the 24 month period, reporting directly to the group’s Chief Executive Officer and MD, Mr. Joshua Oigara.

Mr. Russo’s appointment comes a day after CBK said it had no objection to KCB’s planned acquisition of 100 per cent stake in National Bank of Kenya in an offer to shareholders which closed on Friday August 30th, 2019.
