Kabogo Engages with Kenya-AIST Delegation to Boost Innovation Partnerships

In a strategic move aimed at accelerating Kenya’s socio-economic transformation, ICT Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo met with a delegation from the Kenya Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Kenya-AIST) at his office.
The Kenya-AIST programme is designed to lead the nation’s transformation by training exceptional scientists and engineers in critical sectors of development, a key pillar in achieving the Vision 2030 goal of elevating Kenya to a middle-income country.
During the meeting, which was attended by PS ICT and Digital Economy John Tanui and several Kenya-AIST Council Members, Kabogo and the delegation, led by Chairperson Prof. Mutisya, deliberated on operationalizing the programme.

Discussions focused on forging robust partnerships with private sector players to ensure that Kenyan innovations are recognized and effectively utilized across diverse industries.
“The programme’s strategic pillars—Science, Technology, and Innovation—are critical catalysts for fast-tracking the modernization of our society,” Kabogo stated. “Our engagement with Kenya-AIST underscores our commitment to building strong partnerships that will drive our nation’s transformation and unlock immense potential for economic growth.”

The initiative is expected to enhance Kenya’s capacity in research and development, fostering a new generation of innovators equipped to address the country’s developmental challenges.
