Ichagaki petitions EACC to investigate NGCDF Maragua office over fund misuse

Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) has received a petition to investigate the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) projects under the patronage of Mp Mary Waithira Wamaua.
Ichagaki Ward MCA Charles Mwangi Nganga alias Ichagaki One on Monday announced that among the projects he wants the anti graft body to investigate include: construction of road projects, classes, bursary issuance and the employment process.
Speaking after handing the petition to the EACC sleuths, Ichagaki One says there has been controversy marring the employment process at the NGCDF offices and want the corruption watchdog to unearth and find out whether the process was flawed or was done in a competitive process.
He added that there were also claims of discrimination of distribution of projects in some wards in Maragua.
“There are serious allegations that I petition the anti graft body to investigate and give us the forward, for example issuance of bursary funds is in question and we want the EACC to fast track the investigations and charge anyone found culpable,” Mr Ichagaki one noted.
The MCA alleged that there are some signposts containing projects undertaken by former MP Peter Kamande but the posts have already been defaced or destroyed while the current regime has only completed projects left unfinished by former MP only to take credit of the same.
“If true, this will be the highest form of corruption and we want the culprits to face the full wrath of the law,” he said.
Mr Nganga also wants the commission to find out whether there is mismanagement of NGCDF funds inflation of projects prices and halfway done projects.
He noted that under the BBI, the corruption cases will be heard under given timelines noting this will teach the alleged corrupt a lesson once their partners in crime faces the music.
