Naivas Supermarket Expands Upscale Presence in Karen,Nears 100th Outlet
Naivas Supermarket has opened its 95th store as part of its plan to reach 100 outlets. This expansion is in line with the company’s strategic growth strategy. The new store is located in the upscale Karen suburb of Nairobi, Kenya, at the intersection of Lang’ata and Lang’ata South Roads. It covers an area of 10,000 square feet and serves as the anchor tenant of the new One Stop Arcade in Karen.
The new Naivas outlet follows the elevated food market model that was first introduced in Naivas Food Market Greenspan in early 2022. This model emphasizes a wide selection of fresh produce, which will occupy 25% of the store space, along with fast-moving consumer goods (FMCGs) and other general products.
During the launch event, Naivas Chief Commercial Officer Willy Kimani expressed his excitement about returning to Karen after the success of their first outlet in the area. He acknowledged the support and acceptance of the brand by the Karen-Langata community and stated that the decision to open a new store in the neighborhood was based on data and insights.
Kimani also announced the start of the countdown to the 100th branch, marking the milestone with the hashtag #RoadTo100. He highlighted the achievement of Naivas as a Kenyan brand and expressed gratitude for the opportunities the company has created, including the employment of tens of thousands of people and support for suppliers of all sizes.
Naivas Supermarket has partnered with Art Caffee for the new Karen branch, providing customers with a combined shopping and dining experience. Shoppers can expect exclusive offers during the store’s opening period, aligning with Naivas’ commitment to providing cost-effective shopping options.
The opening of the new Naivas Supermarket branch in Karen reinforces the company’s commitment to expansion and enhancing retail standards while serving the needs of the local community.
