Nation media purge: Ken Mijungu axed

The Nation Media Group reorganization that first started with the newspaper division is fast reaching out to other departments of the media house. Information reaching us is that the TV newsroom division is on the line with Ken Mijungu announcing his exit from the media house.
Confirming the unfortunate news, Mijungu through a Twitter post announced that his seven year stint at the media station had come to an end owing to the the latest staff re-engineering by the media house.
“The axe fell @NTVnewsroom and I was on its way. 7 years in those corridors summed up in a two-page letter of termination. We live to fight another day. Thanks to God, He remains the greatest, thank you @ntvkenya for the opportunity, and thank you for always staying tuned,” he said.
According to Nation Media Group Chief Executive Officer, Stephen Gitagama, the media house has made special arrangements for those affected to receive counselling support. He also affirmed that affected employees stationed out of Nairobi would be offered relocation assistance.
He also said that the affected staff would receive medical cover for two months to 31st August 2020 after which the company has negotiated a medical insurance scheme through its current medical provider which the affected employees may opt to individually join.
