ODM Nairobi branch chairman George Aladwa has dismissed reports that the party has ordered its members in the county assembly to fastrack the impeachment of embattled Govenor Mike Sonko.
In a letter seen by Bizwatchkenya.com and sent to the Speaker and clerk of the assembly ,Aladwa who is also the Makadara MP has further denied reports that the party leader gave impeachment orders.
” I have been directed by the party leader Raila Odinga to advise members that the party does not support the move,” Aladwa said.
Aladwa further directed the mcas not to vote or append there signatures on any purported impeachment unles adviced otherwise by the party.
Makongeni MCA Peter Imwatok who is also the minority whip was quoted in a section of the media saying that Raila met the MCAs this week on Monday and gave them the go ahead to impeach Sonko.
On the Jubilee side, the mcas have welcomed the move from there counterpart saying no need to impeach Sonko at the moment untill the outcomes from the court.
