Bundesliga 2022/23 season kicks off on StarTimes as league celebrates 60 years
The new 2022-23 Bundesliga season will kick off from Friday 5th August where Kenyan football fans will be in a position to catch all the live fixtures exclusively on pay television platform StarTimes Media as the top tier German football league marks the 60th season since its foundation in 1963.
Bundesliga’s big kick off is set for a spectacular round of opening day fixtures that will see defending champions FC Bayern Munich visit UEFA Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt from 9:30pm, Borussia Dormund will meet Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday from 7:30pm while VFB Stuttgart will face RB Leipzig on Sunday 7th August from 4:30pm on World Football channel.
There are plenty of new faces on the pitch and in the dugout this Bundesliga season with exciting players making moves to and within Germany’s top flight. Bayern have lured Sadio Mane away from Liverpool, Matthijs de Ligt, Ryan Gravenberch, Noussair Mazraoui and Mathys Tel.
Last season’s runners-up, Borussia Dortmund haven’t been left behind, bringing in centre-backs Niklas Süle and Nico Schlotterbeck from Bayern and Freiburg respectively, Salih Özcan from Cologne, and Karim Adeyemi – Europe’s top scorer under the age of 21 – back to his homeland from Red Bull Salzburg.

FC Bayern München remains the league’s most successful club on the pitch while the south stand of Borussia Dortmund’s Signal Iduna Park is the leagu’s crown jewel with almost 25,000 fans from different walks of life file in for every Bundesliga home game to stand in Dortmund’s renowned Yellow Wall which remains the largest grand stand in Europe.
