Auto Express Partner To Enhance Road Safety Through Health Check up Campaign For School Drivers

Isuzu East Africa in partnership with AutoXpress has today launched an annual health screening campaign for school bus-drivers nationwide to enhance road safety.

The one-month campaign is geared towards ensuring that school bus-drivers undergo a free medical wellness checkup besides undertaking a retest of common ailments to ensure that they are fit for Kenyan roads.

The health tests also aim at verifying that school bus-drivers are free of medical conditions that may negatively impact on their driving abilities hence boosting road safety.

“Transport and logistics sector has the obligation of facilitating movement of goods and people. Drivers are our customers too and we do recognize their role in supporting our economy. We are therefore launching the ‘Health Screening Program’ as a demonstration of our appreciation for their sacrifice commitment to their wellbeing, and safety of pupils and students,” said Managing Director Isuzu East Africa, Rita Kavashe.

This year’s drivers’ health screening campaign aims to cover over 5000 school bus drivers across the country. 

So far several health camps have been set up in Mombasa, Kisii, Kisumu, Nakuru, Uasin Gishu and Nairobi counties to officially roll out the campaign.

“Safety is a value that is reflected in all our operations. That is why this campaign is very important to us. The potentially life-saving health check-up exercise certainly improves fitness and road safety and on that account, we are always obliged to keep the drivers and everyone around them safe on the roads,” added Sandeep Shah, Manging Director AutoXpress.

Isuzu, continues to play a major role on the region’s logistics ecosystem through partnering with like-minded organizations to address issues around road safety in East Africa.
