It’s Time to look at TikTok

Staying at home for long periods of time is not very exciting, however, during this challenging time it’s the best way to protect yourself and others. Luckily, Kenyans found ways to beat the boredom by participating in the quarantine-related challenge, #boredathome

This definitely helped pass the time in a much more fun way. The challenge attracted over 8.5 Billion views and was participated in by a few favorite local celebrities including Sautisol’s Willis Austin Chiman and Shiv Simani.

Sauti Sol makes debut on TikTok

And now a warm welcome to pop band, Sauti Sol, who recently joined TikTok. In a triumphant entry, the music group’s first post featured singer Bienaime’s bursting dance moves to the group’s latest hit song, ‘Suzanna.’  The post had an introductory remark, ‘This is Sauti Sol, welcome to our TikTok.’ It immediately attracted over 105.1K views in a matter of days and more than 10.7K likes.

Fighting COVID-19 

In the age of infodemics, many people from across the world have access to unfiltered and unverified information about the novel coronavirus, especially on home remedies. In an effort to combat fake news, TikTok teamed up with Africa Check to make sure users are getting the facts about COVID-19, from the right sources. Take a look at this video.
