Sonko gifts Kawangware children,wants Girlchild protected

Nairobi Govenor Mike Sonko has called on MPs and MCAs to enact more laws protecting the Girlchild and children.

The govenor has said that it is important to have laws that will ensure girls are protected from social and economic discrimination .

The Govenor further wants children homes to get more funding from both level of governments

” We must protect these people because they all must have equal rights and an opportunity to have a great life independently,”

The Govenor said this when he hosted children from Kawangware Children Home to mark the lnternational Day of the Girlchild ,2020.

He gifted them with food stuffs and other non food material.

He said that the County Government will work on moralities of supporting all Children Homes in Nairobi
