Menengai Oil Donates Bar Soaps to help curb the spread of Coronavirus

Nakuru based Menengai Oil Refineries Limited (M.O.R.L) has today donated a total of one thousand four hundred (1,600) cartons of Menengai Cream soap and Bar Soap to the Kenya Red Cross and Nakuru County government.

This initiative was spearheaded by M.O.R.L’s Head of Marketing, Simpson Osiemo, Kenya Red Cross Deputy Secretary-General, Annette Msabeni and Nakuru County Government’s Health County Officer Mr. Samuel Kingóri

According to Mr. Osiemo, this initiative will help complement the efforts by Kenya Red Cross to curb the spread if COVID-19 pandemic and specifically in low-income areas as well as the vulnerable people across the country.

COVID-19 is a global threat and should not be left to the national and county governments to handle it alone. We as MORL shall endeavor to engage in partnerships that make an impact in the lives of ordinary people in the society. So far 50 people have tested positive of the novel Coronavirus I the country, with eight cases being of individuals with no prior travel history.

“It has been medically proven that one of the ways to prevent oneself from getting the coronavirus is by thoroughly washing hands with soap and water. With this in mind, we at Menengai Oil Refineries Limited have seen fit to donate our soap to Redcross for distribution to our fellow Kenyans,” Mr. Osiemo said.

In total Menengai Oil Refinery Limited is donating 76,800 bars of soap to both Kenya Redcross and Nakuru County government to curb further spread of the COVID-19
