Senate Speaker Amason Jeffah Kingi is mourning the loss of his father, Mzee Kingi Mwaruwa, who passed away recently. In a heartfelt tribute, Kingi expressed deep sorrow while reminiscing about cherished moments spent with his late father.
“Dad, our patriarch Mzee Kingi Mwaruwa has rested,” Kingi shared. He reflected on a special moment they shared during Christmas 2024 at Mjanaheri village, where, for the first time, he danced with his father.
“Since I attained adulthood, I don’t remember ever dancing with you, Dad. Not until the 25th of December 2024 during Christmas at Mjanaheri village when, for the very first time, we danced, danced, and danced together until sunset,” he recalled.

Kingi described the moment as one of pure joy, where they not only celebrated the holiday but also gave thanks to God for his father’s recovery after battling multiple ailments. However, he lamented that he had no idea it would be their first and last dance together.
“Your face beamed with joy. We were not just celebrating Christmas but giving thanks to the Almighty for your remarkable recovery after years of battling many ailments. I didn’t know that dance would be the first and last with you, Dad,” he said.
The Senate Speaker expressed profound grief over the loss, remembering his father’s struggles and the lessons he imparted.
“I’m completely broken, Dad, especially when I remember the painful journey and struggles that you went through to make me who I am today. You taught me many valuable lessons, the biggest being never to give up no matter what,” he said.
Kingi praised his father as a great gift to the family and expressed his gratitude for having had him as a father.
“It is this lesson that has pushed me this far. Indeed, you were God’s gift to us. I would never have asked for a better father,” he added.
Concluding his tribute, Kingi prayed for his father’s peaceful rest, wishing him a warm reception in the afterlife.
“Dad, may the Angels open the Gates of Heaven and welcome another Angel with a dance just like we did at Mjanaheri. Until we meet again, Dad,” he said.
Mzee Kingi Mwaruwa’s passing is a significant loss to the Kingi family and the larger community.
