Kenya to Host Bongo Star Search Auditions,winners to get over $10,000 Prize
The popular Tanzanian reality TV singing competition, Bongo Star Search (BSS) which airs on Startimes, is set to hold auditions for its highly anticipated Kenyan edition starting next month.
This exciting development was announced during a press briefing at StarTimes Kenya offices, signaling a major step in expanding the competition beyond Tanzania.
The event was graced by notable figures including Rita Paulsen, CEO of Benchmark Production Tanzania, Tamima Ibrahim, StarTimes Marketing Director, Jing Du, Head of Content at StarTimes, and Myke Mwai, Head of PR at StarTimes Kenya.
Rita Paulsen revealed that the auditions will take place on 30th November and 1st December at the Kenya National Theatre.
She also announced that the overall winner of Bongo Star Search Season 15 will walk away with a grand prize of USD 10,000.
In a thrilling addition, celebrated Kenyan media personality and singer Sanaipei Tande will serve as one of the judges for the competition.
“We are here in Kenya to discover exceptional talent, and the entire process will be free of charge,” Paulsen said. “We’ve successfully conducted similar searches in Uganda and other countries, and the top five contestants from Kenya will be flown to Dar es Salaam to compete with participants from other nations. All their expenses will be covered.”
The auditions are expected to attract a wide range of participants, from singers and dancers to musicians from diverse genres, all eager to make their mark.
Myke Mwai head of PR and content syndication at Startimes emphasized the unique opportunity it presents for Kenyan talent as part of promotion of the local talents in the Country.
